As with every type of cooler, soft ones are lighter and more portable, while hard coolers keep the cold longer. Yet, when it comes to wheeled coolers, I would personally choose the hard coolers, as you will be rolling it around all the time. In case it falls, the hard cooler will keep the insides safer.

Hmm… That’s a hard one. I’d say Coleman is better at ice retention and keeping the temperature cold and generally cheaper, though they are less durable than Igloo. Igloo, however, is pretty much indestructible, great for the long journeys and large crowds where safety is your key concern. Yet, the ice melts rather quickly, and the price is higher. So, I guess it’s up to what you value the most.

Well, most of the wheeled coolers here are traditional ice chests. No thermoelectric ones, and very few are soft. Though if you want to try something out of the ordinary, why not take the Coolest Cooler with a speaker and installed blender (!) or the Tunes2Go Koolmax? They might not be the best in terms of quality, but they will certainly make a trip more fun.

What type of cooler would be best for travelling? I’ve always had traditional models, and was thinking of experimenting with something new.

Yes, you can! The wheels are pretty sturdy, and its robust rubber keeps the cooler immobile when needed. Besides, it’s literally bulletproof, so even if it slides and crashes into something, it can endure any shock.

I’m thinking about following your lead and getting the top wheeled cooler here – the Yeti Tundra Haul. I was just wondering if I can use it on a boat? Would it move and slide a lot?

The Bluetooth speaker does not affect refrigerating capacities in any way. Moreover, advanced insulation technology will keep ice frozen for up to three days.

These coolers look very well-designed, but I am not sure that they are functional. I am interested in the Coolest Cooler and Tunes2Go models.
