Well, majority fishing lines are manufactured, including monofilament. Besides, monos have only appeared after the synthetic polymers became available. As far as I understand, monos can only be manufactures, as they are made by melting and then extruding lines through tiny little holes.

I’d say South Bend would be one of the most popular and versatile lines out there. Berkley lines are generally pretty good also!

Monos are generally very strong and highly resistant to abrasion. With good drag, and a thick line like KastKing Durablend or Masters, you can easily fish for a 30-40lbs fish in salt water.
